CCD | Transport month animation

Client Brief

As a courier company, CCD’s drivers face a wide range of challenges while on the road while out delivering packages. Often the person on the receiving end of the package does not understand why there are slight delays in delivery times. So the client asked us to make a video of our hero character “Thabiso” showing the various external factors that influence delivery times. They posted this video on their social pages during transport month in 2025.

The Process

Seeing that we have an established character for the brand, as well as a clear look & feel for their 2D animations, the animation took shape rather quickly. Starting with scamps and sketches to hash out the flow and basic camera angles and character positions, we digitised the storyboard, depicting each scene with on-screen copy, colours and texturing for the client to approve before we started animating. Once we received approval on the storyboard, we animated a Pilot Video (the first few seconds of the animation) for the client to approved music selection, pace, motion, transitions, text animations and the overall flow of the motion graphics. The final step in our process is finishing the entire video once we receive approval on the Pilot Video.

Having this process in place streamlines the communication with our clients by helping them visualise the end product before too much time is spent on the animation phase of the project. Saving time and money.

The Solution

A classic hero story of our beloved Thabiso enduring the elements to safely deliver a package. This fun 1-minute video keeps the viewer engaged and informed, all while strengthening CCD’s customer relations and decreasing complaints.
