De’Longhi

The Brief

As creatives we like to stretch our wings into new and exciting directions. This project is a prime example of that. We call these types of projects Brag briefs: projects where we identify a dream client/industry and come up with a creative idea to pitch to them.

De’Longhi is a brand our entire flock loves, and let’s be honest, we won’t mind swimming in a pond full of coffee!

The brief is simple: Show off De’Longhi’s stunning coffee machine in an elegant way while introducing a new style that their marketing team has not explored yet.

The Process

Our process always starts with extensive research. We looked at what De’Longhi is currently doing online and decided to break away from their normal marketing Look & Feel, while still staying sleek, sophisticated and selling effortless beauty. After getting references and inspiration online, we sketched out the key scenes and started constructing the kitchen in Blender. The video introduces a new approach to the typical social recipe follow-along post, giving us a chance to show off our condensation and liquid simulations.

The Solution

A visually appealing video that we cannot pitch to De’Longhi, leading to hours of research, storyboarding, rigging, modelling, simulations, internal reviews, camera angle adjustments, lighting set-ups, kitchen remodelling and knowledge gained. Who knows maybe one day we can use this video to pitch to some of our local coffee legends like Jacobs, Terbodore, Douw Egberts, Aroma, Merkava or Illy.
